Vaginal itching can be a symptom of many diseases. This can be caused by vaginal dryness or chemical irritants in perfumed soaps. Itching can also be the result of a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, a sexually transmitted disease (STD), or something else.

Fungal infection
If you have a vagina, chances are you will get a yeast infection at some point in your life. In addition to itching, yeast infections can cause a thick, white, cottage cheese-like discharge.
Bacterial vaginosis
It occurs when a certain type of bacteria, usually Gardnerella vaginalis, is overgrown in the vagina.
Bacterial vaginosis is usually accompanied by a fishy odor, burning during urination, and gray, white, or green discharge.
Vaginal dryness
This is a symptom of many disorders. It makes your vagina feel itchy. It causes discomfort during intercourse or masturbation.
Water-based lubricants can help relieve vaginal dryness. If this seems to be a persistent problem for you, you can see your doctor.
Exposure to irritants
Irritating chemicals in pads, intimate washes, and sprays can irritate the skin and cause vaginal itching. For this reason, it is recommended to avoid using anything other than water to wash the genital area.
If you suspect your pad is irritating your skin, try a different brand or switch to a tampon or menstrual cup.
Skin condition
Eczema, psoriasis, and dry skin often cause itchiness, which affects the skin around your pubic area and genitals.
