Almost all women paint their nails. But did you know that nail polish contains harmful chemical components, which are not only superficial but also harmful to our body. So, if you want to know how nail polish can affect your body, keep reading this information.
A recent study found that many of the most popular brands of nail polish are far more harmful than they appear.
Scientists tested 24 women who painted their nails to detect signs of toxic chemicals. Toxins were found in each of them. The reason? Nail polish.
The results showed that 100% of the participants showed signs of triphenylphosphate just 10 hours after applying the nail polish.
In a subsequent study, the same researchers tested ten different nail polishes and found that eight contained the chemical. Additionally, the 2 nail polishes that tested positive for triphenyl phosphate were not labeled as containing this chemical compound. This means that up to 20% of commercially available nail polishes contain dangerous chemicals that are not in their ingredients.
WHAT IS TRIPHENYL PHOSPHATE?
One of the major concerns with triphenylphosphate is endocrine disruption in humans. It can affect hormone regulation, metabolism, reproduction, and development.
This is especially harmful for girls who use nail polish all the time because healthy hormonal development is an important part of their growth. However, triphenyl phosphate poses serious health risks to anyone exposed to it.
